Kirkwood High School alum and former NFL wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, along with several other KHS alumni and volunteers, handed out $15,000 worth of non-perishable and perishable food items, and hygiene items to Kirkwood School District families at Nipher Middle School on Monday, May 18.
This donation will support nearly 200 families with much-needed food during this time. The donation is from Maclin's JMAC Gives Back Foundation and in partnership with the Kirkwood School District and the KSD Nutrition on the Weekends program.
In response to the COVID-19 learning from home, the Kirkwood School District launched grab and go meals for students. Since mid-March, families have picked up bags of food that provide breakfast and lunch to students. Maclin's efforts are adding to this by providing more perishable food items, as well as hygiene items, to families.
