This is my first letter to the editor, prompted by the post from Sydell Shayer, on behalf of the League of Women Voters.
By her admission, in 53 of the last 58 presidential elections (91 percent), the victor has won both Electoral College and popular vote. Because her candidate did not win the last election, she believes we need a constitutional amendment. She would have the majority of Missouri voters give way to the minority.
Our forefathers had the right idea. They did not want the few, most populous states to decide the president for the entire nation. Missourians should not give up our voice to be heard.
