Article I, Section 7, Section 8 of the United States Constitution grants Congress the sole responsibility to control the purse strings of the government. This was not granted to the executive branch!

The members of Congress as well as the president took an oath to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Those members of Congress who do not do their duty to maintain their responsibility to control government spending do so against their oath to the Constitution. That is, they do not support and defend the Constitution.

It seems they placed their own agenda above the Constitution. There is a word for that. It fits the President as well!
