Sometimes called the "Popsicle Parade," the Kirkwood Kids' Parade rolled on this year despite the pandemic! Kids were required to wear a mask and practice social distancing, but still decorated their bikes, scooters, wagons, mini motorized "cars" and then hit the streets on July 4, 2020. The annual tradition started 77 years ago at the home of Marty Walsh, who lived at 330 E. Argonne Drive in Kirkwood. The home's current owner, Michael Niemann, was the host of this year's parade. Kids in the neighborhood decorate their chosen mode of transportation and then proceed from East Argonne Drive to Taylor, Adams, Woodlawn and then back to the house for post-parade popsicles.
