Allow me to express my thanks to the Ancient Order of Hibernians for giving me the great honor of serving as grand marshal for the annual Dogtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I have participated in the parade for nearly 30 years, but this was clearly the highlight.

Why is state Sen. Andrew Koenig, R-District 15, the primary sponsor for charter school expansion in the state legislature when he currently represents three AAA rated school districts (Kirkwood, Parkway and Rockwood)? Do we really need charter schools in our area?

From what I can see, Mr. Bob Oberst (March 8 Mailbag) has been fuming ever since he read the March 1 letter in the South County Times in which Stephen Cakouros criticized U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez whose Green campaign has now reached the zany stage.
