SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital broke ground Nov. 14 on a new pediatric healthcare specialty services center in South St. Louis County. This project is being designed and constructed by Lawrence Group. The center will be located at 13000 Butler Crest Drive.

School children from Assumption Catholic Church and La Petite Academy, both located in the immediate area of the new facility, joined executives from SSM Health and local dignitaries to break ground on the building.

The center will serve as part of ongoing expansion of SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Pediatric Specialty Services in the St. Louis region. The site will offer increased access and services closer to communities in South St. Louis County, Jefferson County and beyond. Families will be able to receive expanded care from SSM Health and SLUCare providers without leaving their community. Services offered at this location are expected to include endocrinology, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, ophthalmology, optometry, orthopedics, ENT, therapy services, psychology, rheumatology and sports medicine.

This summer, crews broke ground on a similar facility in North St. Louis County. SSM Health and SLUCare providers will be the first in the area to offer pediatric specialty health care in this facility.

“Our goal is to provide exceptional health care where children and families need it most so they can focus on doing the things they love,” said Steven Burghart, president of SSM Health Cardinal Glennon. “Bringing our exceptional care closer to home is one way we can achieve this goal.”
