The Webster-Kirkwood Times went under new ownership, WKTimes LLC, on September 8, 2020. When the original owner decided to retire and sell the company after a long shut-down due to the coronavirus, three former employees and a fourth partner stepped up to purchase the paper. The new ownership got the print edition of the Webster-Kirkwood Times up and running with their first published issue on September 25, 2020.
The current circulation is over 38,000 for the Webster-Kirkwood Times.
The new owners are hopeful to be able to bring the South County Times and West End Word back from their hiatus at some point in the future.
For over 40 years under the previous owner, it was the premier source for community news in the St. Louis area with three newspapers: Webster-Kirkwood Times, South County Times and West End Word.
Total circulation of the three papers was more than 90,000 households. Independently owned and operated for more than 40 years, Webster-Kirkwood Times, Inc. is the largest, independently-owned chain of newspapers in the St. Louis area.
An emphasis on “local” sets the papers apart from other publications. Owners and staff live and work in the communities in which they serve. Times offices are located in the heart of Old Webster, at 122 W. Lockwood Ave. The phone number is 314-968-2699.
