"Schindler's List," the 1994 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, starring Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Kingsley, is the true story of Oskar Schindler, a member of the Nazi party who felt compelled to turn his factory into a refuge for Jews, saving about 1,100 Jewish lives.
Introductory remarks and post-screening discussion on the 25th anniversary of the film’s release will be facilitated by Erin McGlothlin, associate professor of German and Jewish Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. McGlothlin’s main research interests are German-Jewish literature and the literature of the Holocaust.
