Kirkwood Public Library is proud to announce the featured artists for March and April, Kirkwood High School Fine Arts Photography students. The show is titled PORTRAIT OF A PIONEER: Faces of our Future, 4th edition.
These portraits capture the diversity of Kirkwood students and their genuine expressions and personality. Fine Art Photography is a visual art course offered at Kirkwood High School which focuses on photography as a means of artistic expression. Students effectively manipulate the Elements and Principles of Design (line, shape, color, texture, shape, space, form, emphasis, pattern, unity, balance, contrast, and movement) when composing a photo. They learn digital SLR camera settings as well as software editing techniques. Class content encompasses the history of photography, alternative photographic processes, digital photography, preparing photography for a gallery or online, as well as careers in photography. Students are supplied a Canon Rebel t6 camera for in class use. Mrs. Kim Powell and Mr. Byron Rogers from the Visual Art Department teach Fine Art Photography this year at Kirkwood High School.
Kirkwood High School, Fine Art Photography Class’s art will be on display in the Art Gallery, located on the main floor of the Library, from Tuesday, March 3rd until Thursday, April 30, 2020. The Art Gallery is open during normal library hours.
