The Gateway Festival Orchestra is now welcoming a distinguished new conductor – Darwin Aquino.  Continuing its 55-year tradition of free concerts on Sunday evenings in July, the 50-piece ensemble of professional musicians performs this summer onstage at the 560 Music Center near the Delmar Loop in University City.  The orchestra’s customary outdoor venue on the Washington University campus is undergoing renovation, and audiences this July will enjoy some benefits unique to 560, including air conditioning and plentiful free parking.  Children receive an attendance prize. Notes to Munch On, a pre-concert discussion, begins at 7:10pm, followed by the concert at 7:30pm.
