Missouri Immigrant & Refugee Advocates (MIRA) recently announced their inaugural immigration conference to be held Nov. 15-16. This event will

take place at The Deaconess Center for Child Well-Being, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. both days and is open to the public. The first day of the conference features programming curated by the Immigrant Service Providers Network (ISPN), an initiative of MIRA designed to engage and connect service providers whose clients are immigrants and refugees.

The conference will feature speakers who are experts in their fields from a variety of

backgrounds. Session topics include refugee resettlement in Missouri, immigration law, recent experiences at the U.S./Mexico border, and best practices for working with undocumented clients.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, Saint Louis University’s K-Pop dance team, K:ODE will perform.

Following their performance, they will lead a short workshop where conference guests are invited to learn pre-selected choreography, interacting with immigration and culture in a fun, upbeat way.

Tickets are still available for the conference online at https://www.mira-mo.org/conference, for the price of $15 a day, which includes lunch and programming.

MIRA can be contacted by email at info@mira-mo.org or by phone at (314)669-1288
