Please join us in September to listen, learn and ask questions about gun violence in our city, state, and country. Kirkwood United Church of Christ is proud to welcome the following speakers:

Sunday, September 8: MO State Representative Deb Lavender - Deb will be speaking to us about MO gun laws and how they impact the people of our state.

Sunday, September 15: Gail Wechsler, Moms Demand Action - Missouri - A non-partisan grassroots movement of American mothers and others demanding common-sense solutions to address our country’s dangerous culture of gun violence, which jeopardizes the safety of our children and families. This violence affects everyone, everywhere – from big cities to small towns to rural communities. We can support the Second Amendment while doing so much more to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people and make our communities safer.

Sunday, September 22: Kristin Rehg, Moms Demand Action Be SMART program - Be SMART promotes responsible gun storage and asks all adults to take simple steps to prevent the harm that can occur when children get a hold of unsecured firearms.

Sunday, September 29: Rev. Dr. Dietra Wise Baker - Rev. Dr. Baker serves as the National Benevolent Association (NBA) Program Coordinator for Advocacy and Activism. She will talk with us about how we move forward with this topic of gun violence and its impact.
