This summer rediscover a Mexican masterpiece in “Flores Mexicanas: A Lindbergh Love Story,” open June 1 through Sept. 2, at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park.
In 1929 Mexican president Emilio Portes Gill gave newlyweds Anne and Charles Lindbergh a wedding gift unlike any other — the monumental 9-by-12 foot Flores Mexicanas painting by renowned Mexican artist Alfredo Ramos Martinez. The location of Flores Mexicanas has long been unknown to art scholars. Lindbergh entrusted the masterpiece to the Missouri Historical Society where it has been safely stored for decades. Now for the first time in over a half-century, the painting will be on view to the public. Visit mohistory.org for more details.
