Free Resource Fair For Older Adults returns to Holiday Inn SW-Route 66, 10709 Watson Road, July 19, 9 a.m. to noon

Prime Times Senior Expo returns for its ninth year on Thursday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to noon. The resource fair for older adults features speakers and exhibits designed with senior adults in mind. This year's expo will be held at the Holiday Inn SW-Route 66, 10709 Watson Road in Sunset Hills. Admission is free.

About 80 exhibitors will be at this year's event providing information on a wide range of services, from adult housing opportunities to health care tips and financial advice.

Free services will include hearing screenings, blood pressure checks and memory testing. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter exhibitor raffles and receive giveaways. Throughout the morning, representatives from Cochlear Americas, SSM Health St. Clare Hospital, St. Anthony's Medical Center/Mercy and Siteman Cancer Center – major sponsors of the expo – will speak on various health-related topics.

• 9:15 a.m. – "When Hearing Aids Are Not Enough" by Sara Chinnock, M.S., engagement manager for Cochlear Americas. As engagement manager, Chinnock meets with individuals who are considering one of Cochlear's implantable technologies as well as works with recipients and volunteers.

• 10:15 a.m. – "Hearing Advances Through The Years" by Lisa DeBold, area manager with Cochlear Americas.

• 11:15 a.m. – "When Hearing Aids Are Not Enough" by Sara Chinnock, M.S., engagement manager for Cochlear Americas.

SSM Health St. Clare Hospital

• 9:15 a.m. – "Treating Hip and Knee Pain" by Clayton Perry Jr., M.D., orthopedic surgeon with SSM Health. Dr. Perry also has fellowship training in adult total hip and total knee reconstruction. He has specialty training in minimally invasive joint replacement, including direct anterior approach to the hip, and reconstruction of failed hip or knee surgery.

• 10:15 a.m. – "Strokes" by Ashish Nanda M.D. Dr. Nanda is a board-certified vascular neurologist specializing in stroke and interventional neurology. He works primarily at SSM Health St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, and also covers SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital. His areas of stroke expertise include endovascular clot removal, aneurysm coiling, including pipeline stent certification, intracranial and carotid stenting, AVM embolization and intra and extracranial tumor embolization.

• 11:15 a.m. –"Cholesterol Goals" by Daniel Wagner, M.D. As an invasive/non-interventional cardiologist, Dr. Wagner performs diagnostic tests to identify heart problems. These tests include echocardiograms, stress tests and EKGs (electrocardiograms). He also performs a diagnostic procedure called cardiac catheterization to find blockages of coronary arteries.

St. Anthony's Medical Center/Mercy

• 9:15 a.m. – "Find Breast Cancer Early" by Jennifer Hawasli, M.D., St. Anthony's Breast Surgery Specialists. She is board certified in surgery and has completed her fellowship in Breast Surgical Oncology at Washington University. The practice focuses on both cancer and benign breast disease while making sure to take care of the patients and their family as a whole.

• 10:15 a.m. – "Stay Sharp! Practical Tips for a Healthier Brain" by John Mulvahill, M.D., Mercy Clinic Internal Medicine-Crestwood. He is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medi-cine. Dr. Mulvahill provides primary care services for ages 18 years and up, including care for the elderly.

• 11:15 a.m. – "When to Consider a Hip or Knee Replacement" by Stephen Benz, M.D., St. Anthony's Orthopedic Specialists. Dr. Benz is an expert in total joint replacements of the hip and knee doing both primary and revision surgery. Prior to starting his practice in St. Louis in 1991, he spent eight years in the U.S. Air Force and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

Siteman Cancer Center

• 9:15 a.m. – "Lung Screening Program" by Anne Stilinovic, BSN, RN, TTs, Siteman Cancer Center nurse navigator, Lung Screening.

• 10:15 a.m. – "Diet and Cancer Prevention" by Amy Glueck, MS, RD, CSO, LD, Siteman Cancer Center dietician.

• 11:15 a.m. – "Diet and Cancer Prevention" by Amy Glueck, MS, RD, CSO, LD, Siteman Cancer Center dietician.
