Quaint Town Of Kimmswick Opens Doors At Upcoming Events

Kimmswick is the perfect day trip, just 25 minutes from downtown St. Louis. Fall is a great time to stroll the quaint streets of this historic river town. Explore the 28 shops and enjoy dining at the town's charming restaurants.
History will come alive on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Living History Day & Historic House Tour. Events include a Civil War Reenactors Encampment, historical performances, music, demonstrations, artisans and a presentation on Jefferson County's 200-year history. Take a narrated cruise to Kimmswick on the Mississippi River on Thursday, Oct. 4. Board the Tom Sawyer at the Gateway Arch in downtown St. Louis. Tickets include lunch at the famous Blue Owl Restaurant & Bakery. Tickets available at www.gatewayarch.com/event/kimmswick-cruise.
The annual Apple Butter Festival returns Oct. 27 and 28, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Streets will be lined with 500 to 600 food, drink and craft vendors, plus entertainment – and apple butter. Streets will be closed to vehicle traffic. Park at the Windsor School and catch a bus into town.
