Effingham Beckons Travelers With Lodging, Attractions
The 25th annual Corvette Funfest will be held Sept. 20-23 in Effingham.

The gleaming Cross at the Crossroads welcomes travelers to Effingham, Illinois, offering a beacon of hope to travelers. The town is located about 100 miles from St. Louis in Central Illinois where Interstate 57 meets Interstate 70.
Effingham is well known to travelers for its many hotels and restaurants. It also attracts visitors with such attractions as the Funfest Amphitheater, MY Garage Museum, The Effingham Performance Center, the farm to table Firefly Grill, Tuscan Hills Winery and Lake Sara.
Mid America Motorworks is sponsoring the 25th annual Corvette Funfest Sept. 20-23. It will include special displays, car shows, a Swapfest, seminars, product demonstrations, plus music.

The area plays host to numerous events throughout the year. On Sept. 7 and 8, the Hobnob Harvest Market will feature100-plus hand-picked vintage and handmade vendors at the Effingham County Fairgrounds in Altamont, Illinois.
Effingham is hosting the Effingham Cruise Night on Sept. 7, 5 to 10 p.m., down Jefferson Avenue. Come downtown to enjoy classic cars, food, including Hi-Boy hamburgers on the Courthouse lawn, live music, a wine/beer garden at Village Wine & Gifts, plus a cook-out with the Effingham Police Department at the corner of Front and Jefferson Avenue. The parade starts at 5 p.m. from Autozone to the downtown area.
Thelma Keller Convention Center will be the site of the Harvest of Quilts quilt show on Sept. 7 and 8 featuring quilt appraisals, bed turnings, shopping and more.
Heart of the Hops on Sept. 28, 4 to 10 p.m., will feature craft beer tastings with plenty of great food and music.
